By default, no data ever leaves your device. ComfortDIAL is a local browser extension – all bookmarks and settings are stored on your device and synced through your own browser account.
Anonymous Error Reporting off by default
If you choose to enable Anonymous Error Reports in Settings → Privacy, the extension will send a crash report when an unhandled error occurs. You can turn this off at any time from the same settings screen.
What is collected (opt-in only)
- Extension version number
- Browser type (Chrome or Firefox)
- Error type, message, and anonymised stack trace
What is NOT collected
- Your bookmarks, URLs, or page titles – automatically removed from reports
- Your IP address – stripped before storage
- Any personally identifiable information
- Browsing history or visited sites
- Anything at all if error reporting is disabled
Where data is stored
Reports are sent to a self-hosted GlitchTip instance operated by the extension developer. Data is retained for 30 days and then automatically deleted. No data is shared with third parties.
How to opt out
Open the extension, go to Settings → Privacy, and disable the Anonymous Error Reports toggle. No further data will be sent. The toggle is off by default – if you have never enabled it, no data has ever been sent.
